In today’s down spiraling economy money is tight which can make some people turn to crime that would not have otherwise thought of something like burglary as a way to support home and family. Our homes, offices and businesses are more vulnerable today than they have ever been. A home security camera can be a help to you in that respect.

There are many types of home security camera, i.e. hidden cameras, outdoor cameras, indoor camera, night vision cameras, cameras with motion sensors, and a full surveillance camera with DVR kit.

The same premise is used in the night vision camera but it is made to take a high resolution image in pitch dark by using thermal imaging. It may use a process called image enhancement which will result in a green colored image which is usually associated with night vision. The use of many shades of green results in tones and outlines to distinguish shapes and movement.

Some surveillance systems, such as the outdoor security home surveillance system, come in kits that contain many cameras, anywhere from eight to thirty two cameras, together with a DVR recording system. This recording makes sure that all of the different camera captions can be recorded to a hard disk for later viewing. This system is also good for storing all of the security images. Storing these images is a good idea in the event there is a break in and they are needed later to help the authorities to find the criminal(s).

There are home security systems such as ADT and with a technologically advanced camera system in your home ADT would be notified as soon as the break in is happening. These more advanced systems can be programmed with a number to let you know when something is happening in your home, office or business without alerting the thieves. There are variations of the advanced security system and there is the ability to customize your security system.

We should all have a security plan and the home security camera should be an important part of the security plan.
